Garden Design Services
Too often garden design seems mysterious and confusing. I offer a service which is tailored to you, the client.
Consultation
An informal initial visit to discuss what you would like, and for me to get a feel for your garden by walking around with you looking at what grows, what doesn’t, where the light is, what the soil is like, etc. We can discuss your plans, your budget and your timescale. This visit usually lasts an hour, and providing you wish to proceed with design work, there will be no charge.
The Design Process
Do you want your whole garden redesigned?
If so, I will
- survey the site and produce a scaled survey drawing. (If the site is complex I may arrange for a surveyor to do this).
- draw a scaled new concept design for the garden to present to you. This will include new hard and soft landscaping areas as discussed with you.
After further discussion with you about the design, I can
- arrange for hard landscapers to tender for any construction work. I currently work with a landscaper who I am happy to recommend www.edenrose-landscaping.co.uk If necessary I can provide construction drawings
- proceed to a planting plan, where I provide a scaled drawing of all plants to go in the garden.
I will also make sure that all plants are available from local wholesalers at a competitive price.
I can also arrange delivery and plant the plants for you.
I maintain a close relationship with all my clients to date and am happy to return to give maintenance or additional design advice whenever required (at a nominal charge).
Do you just want a part of your garden redesigned?
Maybe you just want a new patio? We can discuss this and I can produce a new design for you.
Do you want part of the garden replanted?
If so, I will draw up a planting plan for this area.
This involves measuring the site, where necessary testing the soil, and then providing a scaled drawing of the plants. Each plant is shown on the drawing at the maximum size it would reach. Each is chosen for its suitability to the site and to your requirements.
I will also make sure that all plants are available from a local wholesaler at a competitive price.
I can also arrange delivery and plant the plants for you.
Fees
Each garden is different and estimating fees is not straightforward!
For a small garden, a new design could cost £500, plus another £500 for a planting plan. For a larger garden, costs would be considerably more, depending on the complexity of the design.
